The construction of the sports complex in Magadan was financed under the federal target program for the development of physical culture and sports. Funds for the completion of construction were allocated by order of the President. The total area of the sports complex is almost 20,000 square meters. The complex can simultaneously accommodate up to 300 athletes and 700 spectators.
The pride of the “Presidential” sports complex is the ice arena, which was built in accordance with the requirements of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) using technologies of the domestic manufacturer PROSTOR, including:
- an upper sand-filled technological slab of the ice field with cooling supply pipes. Under the cooling slab and a 100 mm insulation layer, a ground heating system is installed to protect against freezing;
- refrigeration equipment with a capacity of over 440 kW, equipped with built-in heat recovery systems;
- a water treatment system that ensures high-quality ice;
- a microclimate control system for the ice arena;
- professional hockey boards.
