The rapid development of the Republic of Tatarstan has made its capital a hub for the country’s major sporting events. The modernization of the Kazan Sports Palace, originally built in 1966 in the heart of the city, ensures that it keeps pace with Kazan’s growth while remaining a key facility for professional athletes, sports school students, and local residents alike.
The Kazan Sports Palace is an ice sports facility that supports year-round rink operations. In addition to youth competitions, hockey, and figure skating training, it serves as the home arena for the VHL team “BARS” and the KHL team “AK BARS.” Over the years, this rink has produced many Olympic-level hockey players and figure skaters.
The main ice rink, with a seating capacity of 3,345 spectators and a fully adaptable playing surface, meets all modern standards and the current KHL regulations. The VHL/KHL teams “AK BARS” and “BARS” play their home games here.
PROSTOR’s Role in the Arena’s Transformation
The arena is now equipped with a state-of-the-art SafetyFence (SFB) board system by PROSTOR, featuring:
15mm-thick acrylic shielding, installed seamlessly using a polycarbonate profile
Acrylic shielding heights: 1,800mm along the long sides, 2,400mm at the ends and curved sections
Player, penalty, and referee boxes with integrated advertising protection system, PROSTOR-manufactured benches, referee tables, adjustable flooring, and hockey goals
